LONDON (SHARECAST) - Footsie has passed through the 5,000 barrier, this time on the way up, as retailers and banks enjoy a spell in the sun. HBOS is leading the blue chip risers, further closing the arbitrage gap that exists between its share price and that of Lloyds TSB , the company that is making an all-share takeover for the mortgage lender.

(RTTNews) - The stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region closed higher on Wednesday, snapping a six-day losing streak. Bucking the trend South Korean market closed slightly lower.

(RTTNews) - The stock markets across the Asia-Pacific region closed higher on Wednesday, except for South Korea, snapping a six-day losing streak. Speculation that the U.S. Senate will approve a $700 billion bank rescue plan to revive the credit markets boosted Asian investor sentiment.

This mixer is a Quadrature Sampling Detector or "Tayloe mixer", the well-known circuit with a four-position CMOS switch, which is also used in many amateur radio SDR front-ends such as the SDR-1000 and the SoftRock. * Another such mixer operating at 3600 kHz. * A PC with soundcards to receive and process the signals coming out of the quadrature mixers. The PC is an old Pentium-III at 1 GHz, running Linux and the WebSDR server software. "
